Race Report: Donovan - Fontana Winter Series Finals
|

|
If there were a working mom class at the Tucky event, Leigh would be crowned the champ every time. But for now she will settle for 3rd place behind reigning World Cup champion and National Champion.
It was on THE WALL section of the course
that 1995 World Champion Leigh Donovan could
hear her 4 1/2 yr old daughter Grace cheering -
GO MOMMA and that gave her enough legs to
pedal into the finish in 3rd place.
Ya, we got smoked by Buhl Said Leigh
after the race, I did a run with her and I was on
the same pace on the little rocky sections, but
she just motored away on the 3 climbs we had in
this race, it should have been called a super-D, I
can not complain, I got 3rd behind 2 girls that
race and train for a livi ... More >

Race Report: Houseman - Fontana Winter Series Finals
|

|
This was race #5 of the Fontana Winter Series. I headed out Saturday morning for downhill practice, and was stoked to see some new sections built into the DH course. Its always nice to ride a new trail every weekend, definitely keeps it interesting. I was sitting 3rd in the overall points, and my plan was to stay there. It didnt work out as planned but Im still happy with the outcome. After 3 practice runs I felt solid on the course, but I just needed to clean up a few sections. Towards the very top of the course, there was a single rock jump that was giving people problems. I got it in my head after chatting with Cody Warren at the top, that I was going to try and Speed Jump it. That didnt work out well, and I ended up slamming my left foot pretty hard. I h ... More >

Rider down - Lenosky
|

|
In case you don't already know, our boy Jeff Lenosky had an unfortunate accident a few weeks ago. Words and pic from Jeff....
A message to all my friends and fans,
I've been very fortunate to have had a long career without any major injuries. A couple weeks ago I leaned the hard way that good luck can't last forever. Monday February 15th was a warm winter day so Aaron Chase and I decided to do some jumping in his backyard. A slight miscalculation resulted in a freak accident leaving me with a broken Tibia and Fibula on my left leg. I had surgery to install a rod in my tibia since the Doctors I consulted with felt it was the best course of treatment. The surgery was a success and now I've begun my long journey back to the bike, I hope to see you all real soon!

Jordan Lopez article in the Auburn Journal
|

|
Fox gravity ripper Jordan Lopez grabs a page in his local paper the Auburn Journal...
By Todd Mordhorst, Journal Sports Editor:
Jordan Lopez is thankful his father didnt keep his bike locked up back when he was living at home.
If he had, Lopez may have never discovered his unique ability thats turned into a professional endeavor.
Back at Placer High, Lopez spent much of his time focusing on baseball. That is, until his dad Roger got a mountain bike.
He got too old to run anymore so he got a mountain bike and I would poach it from him, Lopez explained. I really stumbled into (mountain biking) and I found I had an ability to go downhill, really fast.
After progressing to the expert level within a few years, Lopez began racing professional ... More >

Race Report: Houseman - Fontana #4
|

|
Headed out for round #4 of the Fontana Winter Series last weekend, and I was still looking to step up a few spots on the podium! Id been on a streak of 4th place finishes, along with a 5th at the last race, so I was hungry to get a good result in. The downhill course had some good speed at the top, with a technical little rock garden in the middle, followed by the Fontucki WALL!
Saturday practice went well, and I pretty much kept the same setup Ive always ran out there. I kept my Easton flat pedals on because they felt more comfortable in the rock section. I hiked 4 runs, took 1 shuttle, and after 5 runs I felt pretty dialed on the course. Plus I needed to get home and watch the Supercross Live anyway!
Rain came Saturday night, making for perfect race conditions Sunday ... More >
