First Annual Fox Surf n Turf Goes Down in History

The 1st Annual Fox Surf 'N Turf was an amazing experience, all set under the beauty of the island of O’ahu. The MX mini bike challenge was held despite the rainy Hawaiian skies and 6 inches of wonderful north shore red dirt. But that is what dirt bikes are all about. The dealers and shops were ready to go, and the air horn blasted and off went the teams to ride in several Moto Heats to see who was best. Surf shops and MX shops rode together and sloshed in the mud together – there was even a pit stop at Sunset Beach to freshen up after being caked in red dirt all day!

Dinner that evening was help at the Hilton Kuhio and the staff at the hotel really outdid themselves. The pupus were amazing and the wild pig buffet was a hit. In the mix were Fox Surf Team riders Eric Geise ...

Eric Geiselman hit by SHARK in Santa Cruz

Well thank God I’m still here intact! I don’t even know how to describe it. Everything happened so quick! I was surfing with my brother Evan and Taylor Brothers. The waves were really bad and it was raining. I wasn’t even that motivated to go out. Evan and Taylor were in typical grom mode and wanted to have a paddle. Jay Thompson and a couple other guys were out surfing too. Right before it was getting dark everyone went in except us. I was sitting out the back just waiting for a wave. I had my back towards the ocean looking straight towards the beach to line up when it happened. Out of nowhere I got attacked from underneath. My board broke instantly right underneath me from the crazy force and I pretty much fell through my board but somehow managed to keep the front end und ...

Time to get ill with Reuben Pearce

What follows is UK ripper Reuben Pearce's first hand account of an ill trip to mainland Mexico featured in Wavelength mag.

My experience in Mexico was like that scene in Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels where the American guy realizes that his British cousin has lost the diamonds ! GULP

All 3 of me landed in Mexico City. Me, Myself and I. Where are the other boys? Gone, and no way of getting hold of them…missed call. They’re at the Hilton airport hotel. Sleep…we fly again, get ripped off in a taxi ride to the spot. It’s 2 foot onshore…beer and sleep. Wake up its clean, cold, as in 77 degrees with a little wind chill and barreling.

Surf thermometer picked up over the next 2 weeks, topping off at 10 feet plus. Big, warm and scary barrels, almos ...

Getting weird at Aviones

The King of Aviones contest was held on Halloween and was Puerto Rico’s First ever Pro Skins event. In the spirit of Halloween contestants could claim the highest scoring wave with a crazy costume and pocket an extra $50 in Cash! The best Puerto Rican Surfers were getting weird and shredding the gnar in freakish attire. There was no shortage of wresting masked rippers on hand. The surf was small but fun, with competitors laying the smack down at one of the most consistent beachbreaks in Puerto Rico.

Psyching out your fellow competitors before heats with intimidating costumes, the chance to make some cash and party on Halloween...all in all this contest rocked. Fox Rider Jose Tavarez took home $100 and had a great Halloween. ...

Eneko Acero blows up @ Islas Canarias Santa Pro

FOX SURF ripper Eneko Acero of Spain has been killing it in the 6* Prime Islas Canarias Santa Pro. He aced his round of 48 heat against ex-WCT Brazilian surfer Ranoi Monteiro, who’s looking to get back to the big leagues, and current WCT Brazilian surfer Heitor Alves, currently rated 27th in the world.

It’s safe to say Eneko is fired up after spending time with the top dogs of the FOX SURF team during a recent FOX trip to France, Portugal and the Azores. Look for Eneko to be taking names and doing damage in the round of 24 against Drew Courtney of Australia and Miguel Ximenez of Portugal.

Watch Eneko’s heat live via the link provided below. The event is currently off, but is set to start at about 12:30 am PST with surf in the 4 – 6 feet range.

Tracking Luke Marks

Luke Jacob Marks is the epitome of a surf stoked grommet, a contest-winning machine, Luke enjoys surfing with friends and showing his young contemporaries how to do man-sized turns at any given beachbreak along the East Coast. So far this year Luke is leading the NSSA Southeast Open Boys division and the NSSA Southeast Explorer Menehune division with 4 wins between those divisions. It’s not uncommon for the kid to enter multiple divisions and take home multiple wins in the same day. It’s hard to keep up with all the wins Luke is notching up this year, all we can say is that we’re extremely proud of him and know the future is looking bright for this Floridian phenomenon.
